Pyroguard introduces NEW RIBA approved CPD
Designed to arm architects with the information they need to get more from their fire safety glass specifications, Pyroguard is pleased to introduce its new RIBA-approved CPD – ‘Fire safety glazing: a system not a product!’
Delivered by the world’s leading independent provider of fire safety glass, the new CPD covers a range of topics, including the role of fire safety glazing in the built environment and the types available, educating the industry on the various factors to consider when specifying a fire-rated system.
As well as running through common applications and the importance of compartmentation, the CPD provides clarification on the three fire safety glass classifications and what these mean in real-world terms. It also provides an overview of the current testing standards, the range of framing systems and materials available and how the multi-functional capabilities can enable architects to get more from their specification.
Speaking about the CPD, Pyroguard’s UK & Ireland Sales Director, Andy Lake, said: “Fire safety glass is something we encounter every day – an essential element of passive fire protection that also enables cutting-edge architectural design. Although it may appear visually similar to standard glass, specifying the right solution can involve a range of technical considerations that go far beyond what meets the eye.
“Even today, there remains the potential for confusion around fire safety glass, the classifications available and the rules and regulations surrounding it. Our CPD aims to clear up any misconceptions in the industry and give architects and specifiers the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. Ultimately, it’s about helping them get the most out of their specification, without the need to compromise on aesthetic design.”
Pyroguard’s updated CPD includes the manufacturer’s latest product developments, including Pyroguard Balustrades, developed for high-rise applications, as well as referencing recent case studies from around the globe.
