Pyroguard Spandrels: A2 reaction-to-fire for curtain walling and glazed façade systems

 

Pyroguard Spandrels provide an A2 reaction-to-fire solution for opaque and non-vision areas within glazed façades, offering an alternative to traditional laminated spandrel products that can contain highly combustible materials such as PVB.

Available as single-glazed or double-glazed units, with a Low-E option and a choice of standard or bespoke RAL colours, Pyroguard Spandrels combine fire performance with façade design flexibility.

A2 reaction-to-fire without the need for full fire-rated glazing

The requirements for façade fire safety have evolved significantly since Grenfell, increasing the focus on the reaction-to-fire performance of materials used within external wall systems.

Pyroguard Spandrels have been developed to provide an A2 reaction-to-fire solution for applications where full fire resistance of the glazing and framing system is not required.

By eliminating highly combustible materials such as PVB, Pyroguard Spandrels offer a solution for opaque façade areas where A2 reaction-to-fire performance is required, while allowing them to be glazed within standard non-fire-rated systems.

This can provide an appropriate alternative where a full fire-rated glazing and framing solution would not be necessary for the application.
