Pyroguard and Technoform achieve new fire-rated solution, with high-performance warm edge spacer
Working in collaboration with Technoform UK, we are pleased to introduce a new warm edge spacer for use in our fire-rated Insulated Glazed Units (IGUs).
The Technoform spacer (SP14) has been designed to provide greater levels of integrity and unit performance thanks to the hybrid construction of plastic and steel. The plastic delivers improved thermal properties, while the inclusion of steel co-extruded into the spacer offers structural stability and durability in fire situations.
Suitable for use as a component in our fire-rated IGUs, the new warm edge spacer comes in black as standard, which is ideal for blending seamlessly with sealants used in typical IGU constructions to provide a more aesthetically pleasing finish.
After conducting a series of successful fire tests at Warringtonfire UK and Efectis France, we’re pleased to confirm the new warm edge spacer is now approved under the CE and UKCA Mark and compliant with current Building Regulations.
