Pyroguard reinforces commitment to Middle East market

As part of its ongoing strategic expansion programme, Pyroguard, the world’s leading independent provider of fire safety glass, has made key sales appointments to significantly increase market presence across the Middle East, with Lee Coates joining as Export Business Development Director and Sherif Khalifa as Technical Sales Manager.

With over 25 years’ experience, a wealth of technical knowledge and a strong framing background across UK and global export markets, Lee Coates will be responsible for spearheading Pyroguard’s sales strategy. A key part of this will be providing a solid foundation to further develop business across the Middle East, through the delivery of a region-specific test and certification plan, facilitating access to the wider market.

Additionally, Sherif Khalifa joins as Technical Sales Manager, based locally in Dubai. With his extensive knowledge of fire safety glass, Sherif’s additional areas of expertise will underpin the regional activities through his experience and the provision of local, dedicated customer and project support.

Covering Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, plus Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon, Pyroguard is the only company to provide the region with such a comprehensive range of fire safety glass solutions, including bespoke toughened glass for individual projects and locally available cuttable glass product. Pyroguard’s toughened glass can also offer the thermal stability levels required in such a challenging climate, with its solutions undergoing robust exposure testing at Arizona desert sites.

Speaking about the appointments, Steve Goodburn, Pyroguard’s Business Development Director, said: “I am delighted to welcome Lee and Sherif to the team and look forward to working with them to strengthen our presence in the Middle East. At Pyroguard, we are committed to supporting our customers and partners across the region and these latest appointments will play a key role in achieving this.

“This latest move also presents some great opportunities for collaboration with the wider svt team members, based in the Group office in Dubai, with a host of other passive fire protection manufacturers and suppliers – all helping us to provide customers a more comprehensive and robust offering. We’re proud to be able to offer a single source of supply for project support, through our technical team’s extensive knowledge and comprehensive library of certification.”

As the world’s leading manufacturer and provider of fire safety glass for timber, steel and aluminium applications, Pyroguard’s portfolio of solutions are installed and specified on projects all around the world. Part of the Technical Fire Safety Group (TFSG) and svt Group of companies, Pyroguard has revenue in over 40 countries, as well as several international customer support offices, with a strong market share across Europe.
