Fire-Rated IGUs for Composite Doors
With demand for higher performing, multi-functional doorsets continuing to rise, fire-rated double and triple-glazed units are becoming an essential part of composite door design. To meet this need, Pyroguard manufactures IGUs that combine tested fire protection with the thermal and acoustic performance modern buildings expect.
Our fire-rated IGUs are fully manufactured within our own facilities right here in the UK. This brings faster lead times, greater efficiency and improved quality control, while also supporting more sustainable production practices.
Pyroguard Advance 2-EW30/8-1 VI: Tailor-Made IGUs for Composite Doors
Part of the Pyroguard Advance range, the 2-EW30/8-1 is converted to DGU for use in this application. In Pyroguard terminology, a VI, the choice of counterpane here is important. In order to meet regulations concerning fire and security and architectural demands, it is possible to add a P1a counterpane and, optionally, a coated Low E pane. The result is a multi-functional double-glazed fire safety glass, specifically tested and approved for external composite doorsets in line with EN 1634-1.
Certified by Efectis with CE and UKCA marking, it delivers:
- Fire resistance of EW30/EI15
- Impact resistance 1B1 (EN 12600) for safety in use
- P1A attack resistance (EN 356) with a 33.2 counterpane
- Warm edge Technoform spacer option for improved thermal performance
- Light transmission of 80% for natural daylight
- Thermal insulation with a Ug value of 1.1 W/m²K
- Sound reduction of Rw 36 (-2; -6) dB
With production size capabilities from 100 x 100 mm up to 1580 x 2780 mm, Pyroguard Advance 2-EW30/8-1 VI sets a new benchmark for fire-rated IGUs in the composite door market, giving manufacturers the confidence to meet both regulatory demands and modern performance expectations.
