Pyroguard

Pyroguard EW fire resistant glass is manufactured using a patented ‘cast in place’ glass lamination process. This consists of two or more layers of float glass with interlayers of specially formulated clear resin between the plates of glass.

Pyroguard

The Pyroguard product range is designed to provide fire safety glazing solutions for a variety of building applications. Pyroguard is manufactured in stock sheets so distributors can cut it to their required size. The products have a short delivery lead time and are easily cut and processed, allowing flexibility in their use. We can also cut the glass for you prior to delivery if you would prefer.

The Pyroguard Range

The Pyroguard EW range protects against flames, smoke and heat, automatically meeting the requirements of the E rated fire glass range. The EW range has the advantage of additional heat control and, therefore, greater fire protection. All Pyroguard glass carries the CE Mark and comes with a declaration of performance supplied by Pyroguard . Laminated glass complies with EN 14449:2005. Pyroguard products can be cut and processed for non-IGU applications by distributors without the need for further CE Marking.

The Pyroguard EI range protects against flames and smoke to the standards set by the E rated fire glass range, in addition it also provides full thermal insulation for fire applications to EN 13501. The EI range consists of different compositions depending on whether their application is interior or exterior. These glasses provide impact classification of 1B1 to EN 12600.

The Pyroguard range is designed to meet regulatory requirements internationally, and all Pyroguard glass products are tested to European and national standards.

The success and the reputation of the Pyroguard range is due to continuous investments in operations and people. Our technical and R&D teams are committed to continuously improving the quality of our products and are developing new systems which are regularly tested and externally certified at approved notified laboratories.

Pyroguard benefits

The strengths of the Pyroguard EW product range include:

  • 7mm thickness for 30 minute applications
  • UV stability for internal and external applications
  • The only processable UV stable 7mm thick glass with a 2B2 impact rating
  • Easy to cut, no taping needed

Pyroguard in an IGU

One of the major benefits of Pyroguard is that it can be coupled with any other performance glass that meets your individual specifications.

It is perfectly possible, for example, to have an insulated glazing unit (IGU) that combines a sheet of Pyroguard fire safety glass on one side with another brand’s solar control glass on the other. This is because Pyroguard is an independent company with a sole focus on fire glass; therefore we have no vested interest in promoting or competing with other glass brands. We can simply offer you objective advice to help you find the right glass for your application.
