Product
The Pyroguard T product range consists of modified toughened monolithic glasses and modified toughened laminated glasses containing patented gel interlayers.
Pyroguard T
Pyroguard T glass is suitable for use in ambitious architectural projects as it is available in large sizes to fit glass walls or ceilings. It enables the transmission of natural light, provides acoustic control and thermal and solar performance, losing no aesthetic benefits while maintaining the highest standards of safety. Pyroguard T is commonly specified for applications such as fully glazed, fire resistant atriums and façades, which can include fire-rated glazed spandrel panels..

The Pyroguard T range is available in custom made sizes, as it cannot be cut once processed. However, Pyroguard T glass still offers great flexibility in terms of potential application uses; its range of fire protection goes from E30 through to EI180. Pyroguard T glass is always manufactured to the client’s specification and therefore provides the benefit of a totally bespoke system for the fire resistance required.
The Pyroguard T-EW range protects against flames, smoke and radiant heat, automatically meeting the requirements of the E rated fire glass range. The T-EW range has the advantage of additional radiant heat control, and therefore, greater fire protection. In tests this glass demonstrates the ability to maintain the amount of radiant heat to below 15 kW/m2 on the unexposed face.
The Pyroguard T-EI range protects against flames and smoke to the standards set by the E rated fire glass range in addition it also provides full thermal insulation for fire applications to EN 13501. These glasses provide impact classification of 1B1 to EN 12600.
All Pyroguard T glass carries the CE Mark and comes with a certificate of performance supplied by Pyroguard complies with the European standard EN 14449:2005.
The strengths of the Pyroguard T product range include:
The Pyroguard T range is designed to meet regulatory requirements internationally and, like all Pyroguard glass products, is tested to European and national standards. Pyroguard’s production facility in Seingbouse, where the Pyroguard T range is produced, has its own fire test furnace, which means the range can be tested in-house to ensure all products remain safe and compliant with relevant building regulations.
The Pyroguard T range is unrivalled in its quality and safety, as well as its potential for use in futuristic, sustainable and boundary-pushing architecture, enabling architects to achieve their vision. Specifiers can enjoy the knowledge that they will benefit from a product that is not only at the forefront of fire resistant glass research and development, but will also receive a bespoke solution that is tailored to their particular design requirement.
“Simon has been working for Pyroguard for over 15 years; he has the inside knowledge of the production process and has improved systems within quality and production. Simon has an extensive knowledge of fire glass, including fire testing to both British Standards and Euro Norms, impact testing and acoustic testing to extend product scope. Simon works to develop product awareness in the project market while working with architects, main contractors and fabricators to achieve stunning, high performance results for all of our project clients.”
“Originating from the automotive sector, Steve has seven years’ experience selling fire resistant glass in the UK and export regions. He is now the Sales Director for the Distribution division, working mainly with the made-to-stock fire glass manufactured by Pyroguard in their UK facility. Key to this division is the development of partners for the cutting and processing of Pyroguard, as well as seeking out companies able to manufacture IGUs to Attestation Level 1. To this end, Steve has been instrumental in developing strong business relationships in the UK, Ireland and Western Europe.”
“Barrie has 25 years of experience in the glass industry. Before joining Pyroguard, Barrie worked for NSG Pilkington, where he spent time in customer service and UK sales, before moving into export sales. This latter position involved moving stock glass into the Mediterranean markets, across the Middle East and into Africa. With a diploma in export management, completed through the Institute of Export, Barrie has in-depth knowledge of selling glazing products overseas. He also has a broad understanding of the various types of glass available, glass processes and required glass standards.”
“Mike joined Pyroguard following a 10-year career at NSG Pilkington, where he completed a four-year apprenticeship in Laboratory Studies. Mike then obtained a Master’s degree in Chemistry whilst spending time in the Physical and Mechanical Testing, Product Assessment and Manufacturing Improvements departments. He then moved on to work for Trelleborg Offshore UK as local technical support and a material specialist for two years. Mike’s extensive experience in the glazing industry, and his in-depth knowledge of materials, processes and technology, make him a vital part of the Pyroguard distribution department.”
