Applications & tests selector
All Pyroguard fire glass products have been subjected to rigorous testing as part of passive fire protection systems. Tested to EN standard, test evidence is available for a wide range of fire glass systems, including: fire rated windows, fire rated screens and fire rated doors.
Recognising the need for flexibility, glazing assemblies have been fully tested with hard and soft wood timber, steel and aluminium.
Fire tests
Timber applications
Hard and soft wood timbers are available
Density should be between 450kg/m3 – 750kg/m3 depending on the fire test evidence (when a test has been validated with soft wood for example, it is automatically approved for a structure with hard wood)
Test conditions
Glazing assemblies are made of a timber, steel or aluminium frame
Tested in independent laboratory furnaces (TNO, Efectis, Exova and Chiltern Fire)
Furnaces are equipped with burners to reproduce the conditions of fire
Impact and acoustic tests are performed on framing structures at approved test houses
Test protocol and results are governed by European Standards and British Standards in order to comply with local and national building regulations.
